Lincoln Memorial

For a choir well-versed in history and heritage, there's nothing quite so humbling as singing in the National Mall with the Washington Monument before you, the Arlington National Cemetery just over the Potomac, and the great spirit of Lincoln at your back.

We stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and sang for an appreciative audience. Many in the audience were foreign tourists, and they seemed the most appreciative of all.

After the performance, we walked through the memorial and drank in Lincoln's spirit, feeling awed by the spirit of the man and taking time to read the Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Address, inscribed in the marble walls.

Many choir members were asked to pose in pictures with
Asian tourists who loved their lighter hair colors.
